I have been working on land deeds (1750s-1870s) for Kirbys (the Henrys,
John, etc.) in Halifax Co., VA on Winns Creek.  I have just discovered that
there are two Winns Creeks:  one currently named "Winns Creek" which is on
the Dan River and one named "Winn Creek" on the Bannister River.

Some of the land deeds specify "S side Dan River, " some say "Meadow Branch
of Wynns Creek," and some just say "Winns" or "Wynns" Creek.   Does anyone
know which of these Winns Creeks the Meadow Branch is on?  Were the Kirbys
buying land on both Winns Creeks?

Thanks, Shirley join2@gvtc.com
