I am searching for info on Boling T. Kirby b.-1765?, d.-1852? in Union Co. SC. m.- Milley Campbell b.-1773? in VA. [this according to info i have is he is my 4th G-Grandfather]  they married Dec. 13, 1789 VA.
my 3rd. G-Grandfather was James Ransom Kirby b.-1785? d.- 1890 Lagrange, GA. m.- Lavisa Simpson b.- 1798 SC d.-0ct. 3, 1870 Lagrange, Ga. i am sure the info on these are correct as passed down to me, He was known as "River Grandpa" in Troup Co. Ga. lived to be 105 years of age. and owned a ferry boat in Troup Co.
His Son Pleasant Bolen Kirby also lived in Troup Co. GA. [my G-G-Grandfather. and his Son William Thomas Kirby [my G-Grandfather moved to Escambia Co. AL before 1900 and named his eldest Son Pleasant Bolen [after his Father] and the 2nd Son Charles Ransom [we presume after his Grandfather]
the problem i have with Boling Kirby being the Father of James Ransom is that he and Wife was married in 1789, and James Ransom was born just 4 years before in 1785, unless Boling T. kirby was married before his marriage to Milley Campbell??????,
i would appreciate any help that any of my distant Cousins can send my way on this. and if any one would like any info i have that might help them just send me e-mail. thanks again.

Howdy,
This is my first post.  My Kirbys seem so hard to find, but maybe
someone out there can connect with what I have.  Starting with my
gg-grandfather "William Langford Kirby born in S.C. or Ga. he was the son
of Sylvester Kirby (?) of S.C.  William married "Anna" (surname unknown)
Their son was "Henry Curtis Kirby" b) 17 September 1893 in Gainsville,
Ga. - d) 14 August 1973 in Charlotte, N.C.  He made his home in Gaston
Co. N.C. between Mt. Holly and Belmont.  He married "Myrtle Pennell" b) 4
June 1895 in Caldwell Co., N.C. - d) 18 April 1968.  Their son "Fred
Mitchell Kirby, Sr." was my grandfather other children of Henry and
Myrtle was Albert Kirby, Charles Kirby, George Kirby, J.D. Kirby, and
Lucille Kirby.
Fred was born on 14 July 1916 in Paw Creek, Mecklinburg Co., N.C. and
died on 5 June 1987 in Palatka, Fla.  he married "Zoe Essie Hartgrove" b)
30 March 1917 in Belmont, N.C. - d) 12 February 1973 in Charlotte, N.C.

We have proof that the Kirbys began in England, but there is a gap as to their arrival in U.S.  We pick it up in Va., then South Carolina and to Randolph County, Ala. The line goes thus:

Ransom Kirby approx. mid l800s, William Terry Kirby, John Daniel Kirby, John Shellie Kirby, Dorsey B. Kirby, (my husband) born in Wedowee, Al, l9l6.

Our oldest son is Bruce Kirby, his son is Dustin Kirby and Dustin's son is Connar.

There are at least 6 generations of lst sons in this line. We would like to get beyond Ransom
Kirby who migrated from S.C. to Alabama.

Any info will be appreciated.

This is probably not the Moses Kirby you are looking for, but nevertheless I
thought I would pass it along.  While researching my ancestor, Ransom Kirby,
in Troup Co., GA I noted a Moses R. Kirby with a wife, nine children and his
mother in the 1870 Troup Co. Census living in Pools Mill District #10186, page
8, line 4, prop. 67:

of Kirbys listed, several of whom are daughters of John T. Kirby, which
I’ll send as soon as I can get them organized.

I'm interested in any information on the following Kirbys

Middleton Kirby b.1811 in South Carolina, shows up in Lawrence County Alabama census in 1840, and had some children born in Tennessee around 1830. Wife's name was Malinda J. ?.

Hawkins Kirby  married  Elizabeth Gossett  lived near Spartinburg, South Carolina in early 1800's.

Any information would be appreciated.

I have the following information on Pleasant Bole Kirby, with same dates
as you indicated below:

Robert's brother, Pleasant "Bole" KIRBY, was born in South Carolina on
May 12, 1830 and died April 14, 1883.  Bole was a blacksmith.  In 1850,
he lived with the Solomon Tingle household.  He married Mary Ann
Robinson, on May 1, 1851.  John W. Glass performed the marriage.  Both
were members of the Sardis (Wehadkee) Baptist Church.  Pleasant joined
when the church was formed in 1849, transferring from Lone Cane Baptist
Church.  Mary Ann Robinson Kirby is buried at the Wehadkee Baptist
Church.  Pleasant married Millie Lyle on December 16, 1859.  His
children included Kalap, Daniel, Jesse, Joseph, Fannie, Eller, Sarah,
and Martha.  Coleb Kirby born 1858 is listed as a Servant Laborer at
Rock Mill, Alabama on 1880 Census.  Pleasant is buried in the Salem
Primitive Baptist Church, near the boundary of Chambers and Randolph
Counties, South of Rock Mill, Alabama.  The cemetery is off the road
between Rock Mill and Standing Rock, Alabama.  He is buried next to
James Robinson who was born June 10, 1801 and died July 11, 1875. He was
probably May Ann Robinson's father.

My records indicate that Pleasant B. Kirby was born l830
and died l883.  He was married to Mary Robinson. He was the son of Ransom
and Lavise Kirby. Ransom had nine children, one of which was Wm. Terry
Kirby from whose line we come.  Does this fit into your records?
